Back to high school with metal embossing.

I had the wonderful experience of teaching metal embossing for 3 days at St. Matthew High in Orleans/Ottawa earlier this month and wanted to share with you some of the amazing work the students did. They ranged from grade 7 to grade 12.  It's so interesting to see the designs that this age creates. Many of them used their own images and designs. Unfortunately I didn't get  photo's of all the work but these will give you an idea of just how great they were.

Doesn't it just  make you want to get your metal out and play? Well I wish I could but I better get back to my Christmas preparing. How's yours going? All ready for the big day? Crazy me, I still have to go do some more shopping tomorrow. Wish me luck!!

New ATC's

Oh my, I'm very slow at sharing Novembers ATC card swap. And I didn't remember to record who's card is who's, so I did a lot of quesstemating. So you ATCers that were there please correct me if I didn't get the right names to the right ATC's and thanks for your patience with this post.
The theme for the month was Unidentified life forms. Somehow this turned out to be a difficult one for me and I wasn't too thrilled with my results but I love the other ATC's that were created. After seeing them I kind of wanted a do over. Sometimes you just need a little inspiration from others to get it going!

Last studio workshop for the year

Tags inspired by my students.

I can't believe we've come to the last workshop in the studio for this year. It's been a great year here in the studio for lots of creating. This past Sunday was a really fun day of doing some Christmas Mega Tags. These tags are something I've been playing with for a few years. sometimes getting a few friends together for a play day of making Christmas tags, so when one of my students asked if I was going to be doing a workshop with them I was delighted to accommodate. This is really just about playing with Distress inks, Glimmer Mists, stencils and embellishments. My hope was that each person would get about 5 tags finished so I think we did pretty good and the results speak for themselves.

It was a great way to get me into a creative Christmas mood. As usual after class the creative vibes continued and I got a few more tags and some cards made.

One more metal embossing workshop...

This weekend, I had my last metal embossing workshop in the studio for the year. We mixed it up a bit again and had some doing the book and others doing the mirror. What great results were achieved by the end of the day! I never get tired of seeing the diversity of peoples creativity with the same medium.

As usual I'm inspired by my students and have a few new ideas bouncing around inside my brain.

That leaves one workshop left to do in the studio this year which is the Christmas Mega Tags next Sunday Nov. 24th.

Don't worry though the Winter Workshop schedule is already posted and ready for sign ups.

Fairy Tale ATC's

Another month, another great ATC meeting. What a great turn out we had this month for the Fairy Tale theme. With so many fairy tales to chose from it was surprising to see a few repeats on the same story.
